Supinators (foot rotates outward when stepping) seeking a lightweight shoe
Asics splits its shoe line into those focusing in two categories: speed and control. Whereas the Gel-Resolution focuses on stability and control, the Solution Swift (this model) focuses on speed.
Note that Asics' padel and tennis shoes look very similar online, but are constructed very differently.
I have played padel with both the tennis and padel versions. I prefer the padel versions for three reasons:
If you prefer a high-traction herringbone sole, know that it comes with the attributes above when you purchase the tennis version.
This is a great option for lighter players seeking speed who don’t have a history of ankle spraining.
Their vertical axis of these shoes tilts inward slightly.
If you are a pronator, like myself and a large portion of the population, then these shoes will result in your turning your feet inwardly more than usual.
So, these are best for supinators, or neutral footed players.
These shoes sacrifice most things for speed, so if you’re looking for a pillow soft shoe, than these don’t fit you.
They suit players focused on maximum speed and performance.
We do not recommend them for players with sensitive feet or coaches who will stand all day in their padel shoes giving lessons.
They are a great option when you use them only for matches and can pop on another pair immediately after your match.
This shoe is great for maneuverability at the expense of comfort. I really like this shoe - it’s not perfect, but it has performance that is second to no other shoe. This is the padel version of the tennis shoe, Solution Speed.
Score breakdownLightweight and breathable options from Asics with the new padel court sole designed to prevent over-traction on the new low sand WPT style curled turf courts.
Score breakdownRecommend for intermediate or advanced players looking for speed on the court - they are very light. A relatively new model to replace the Asics Limas.
