Expert Reviews of the Puma Nova Elite Momo
Despite having an advertised low balance, it is one of the most aggressive rackets - "a fake round". One of the best kick smashes of the past couple of years. Longer handle than most Starvies. Test model weighs 359g and balances at 28cm.
This is a monstrously powerful racket as far as I'm concerned. On bajadas, it has a nice mass and must be carried with a technical composure. At the net, this racket really feels like a Starvie - I really like its feeling - with a less rigid surface than the Premium Line (e.g. Triton). In viboras, it has so much power, sometimes you lose the potency of the spin. In kick smashes, it shoots the ball out straight with so much power.
The weight in the head isn't disabling, but sometimes you feel the weight of the hammer. Let's say at least, the wrist's composure requires a bit of skill in the management of the ball.
With its balance and hardness, it's not super easy in the back of the court - it must be commanded. It doesn't have a lot of control - you must manage its energy.
Small-medium sweet spot - it reminds me of an old Raptor Pro.
It feels great in the back of the court with its round shape and the resulting control. We were surprised by its excellent touch when sending deep lobs, chiquitas, and shots with complicated angles. It's quite powerful at the front of the court - its bandejas give us depth and spin and its smashes make it easy for us to bring the ball back to our side of the court.
Versatile, medium-hard round racket for intermediate advanced players. This is not an easy round racket - it uses Starvie's EVA Pro. It is advertised as having a low balance but this test model weighs 373g and balances at 27.6cm (high).
Easy to give depth to aggressive volleys. Discrete absolute power - don't expect a canon. Great overheads - I feel like I have access to such variety of shots.
Not very maneuverable - I feel slow in volley duels.
Nice dry impact, it allows you to play fine and take the net with chiquitas. I'm always in control with this racket.
It has a small sweet spot for a round racket.
