Expert Reviews of the Adidas Adipower CTRL Light 3.1
Easy to use racket that can be recommended to beginners as it will not penalize players but they need to be in good shape in order to take advantage of it's hyper manageability.
What it receives in handling from its light weight, it loses in power in the aerial game from its low balance. All the power must come from your arm, it has "sufficient power".
Soft touch, light, fast in the change of direction in the defense in the back of the court and at the front in volleying.
With the low balance, my viboras kept landing too shallow. The spin is one of the most important characteristics of this racket because if you can’t apply too much power, you need to be able to use the X3 for example, and I really feel the rough surface will allow me to add the necessary spin.
Really agreeable sweet spot, nice sound upon impact, and truly comfortable. When I make contact in the sweet spot, I get a super nice response from the racket, but one problem with this type of rackets is when you miss the sweet spot, the ball lose a lot of speed.
This racket perfectly fulfills the function of who it is addressed to, what. it lacks in power, it makes up for in control and handling. Not to be associated with just female players.
What’s demanding for me is when the ball comes fast, racket doesn’t function exactly as I expect. And when I wanted to give the ball a bit more speed, it lacked something, I would ask for a bit more power from the racket, a bit more weight.
Handling in the back is super easy and comfortable, i had no problem with super low balls or behind me, easy to use the wrist
It’s a racket that responds very well - you can give the ball speed and it goes well, and it also catches nice spin on the rulos and the viboras
Medium balance at 26cm, but feels light.
