Expert Reviews of the Adidas Adipower CTRL 3.1
Very versatile racket that will help players with a little bit of everything in their game. Highly recommended for those looking for a racket with medium touch and that will behave well in all of the aspects of the game.
In the finish, when we hit the ball in the sweet spot here, the racket responds very well. It has a lot of power, similar to a harder racket in a diamond shape, more than sufficient power.
Behaves quite well when you are not very sure
At the front of the court, with the medium touch you’re not quite on top of the ball when you hit, you really know when you’re going to do with the ball, it gives you a lot of control in this aspect. In the back of the court, when you want to play more aggressive, you lose a little bit of the control.
Lower balance with the round shape. The sweet spot is in the center and a bit larger than usual.
In short, the new Adidas Adipower 3.1 CTRL 2022 is very similar to the previous year, perhaps with a little more of a sweet spot for the satisfaction of its users. A racket not suitable for new players due to its medium/high hardness, which requires a good technique. One of the 3 most powerful round rackets of this year.
When we want power, the racket transmits everything you can give it. Its rubber does not soften when hitting the ball (which allows us to transmit a lot of power in shots), and although it has a lower balance than a diamond racket, finishing the points with power blows is an easy task.
With light weights, we feel good handling and it is not difficult to move the racket quickly either in blocks or in consecutive volleys.
At the net, we feel that we have a firm racket in our hands, with great control being able to perform cut, hard, or adjusted volleys waiting for the ideal moment to squeeze.
We have a great sweet spot and a very measured ball output which makes it a racket with excellent control
No matter if i block 2 balls per hour or 180 balls per hour, all my blocks are going behind the line. No matter how the ball comes at you, it’s easy to maintain the depth of your shot.
In the attack, it is marvelous. Everything you hit, with or without force, exits very well.
Where I penalize this racket is with high balls, the high balance and weight holds the racket back a bit - it is not very agile.
It has a really large sweet spot, basically the whole face responds very well.
