Best Babolat Rackets: the Ultimate Guide
Babolat padel
Babolat, the oldest brand in the tennis industry, has been producing tennis strings since 1875, when it was founded by Pierre Babolat in Lyon, France.
The French brand only began making padel rackets in 2012, but these rackets are now used by top players, such as the number one ranked, Juan Lebron.
Today Babolat is one of the largest padel brands in the world.
Babolat manufactures rackets for all playing styles and levels.
What we’re looking for in a racket
The right level
Advanced rackets come with more power and control at the expense of a small sweet spot. Additionally, advanced rackets have a low ball output, which means the player must make well-timed, strong swings to propel the ball.
As a result, players should choose a racket that aligns with their playing level. Beginners should choose a racket from the Vertuo line. Intermediate players should select a racket from the Veron line. And advanced players should play with a Viper line racket.
The right style
Strong, power-oriented players should choose a racket from the Technical line. Players excelling in a fast overhead, “aerial”, game should choose a racket from the Air line. And players playing a defensive, calculating game should choose a racket from the Counter line.
Additional features
Interchangeable wrist straps
In 2023, Babolat updated all rackets in the Vertuo, Veron, and Viper lines to include the “Smart Buttcap” system for interchangeable wrist straps. This allows players to wash sweaty wrist straps and replace the standard wrist strap with their preferred style.
3D SPIN+
Select rackets, such as the Air Viper and the Technical Viper Lebron, have a stronger roughness on the racket face to increase spin generated on bandejas, viboras, and volleys.
Vibrasorb System
Babolat updated its system for vibration reduction in 2023. This system now reduces vibration absorption further, resulting in very comfortable rackets. Vibrasorb is available across the Vertuo, Veron, and Viper lines.
